Main Missions

About Missions

The missions of the game will be divided by years (1960, 1963, 1973, 1984, and 1990) and by Main Missions, Side Missions, and Special Missions.
Players can come back to the years when they finish all the main missions to do the remaining missions. The number of Side and Special Missions of each year will depend on how big is the section of the map.
I want that each mission, even if is a side or special mission, to have a story. For me, the story is part of the reward for the players and gives an extra why to them to continue exploring.
I will script the minimum main missions to tell the story, but there may be more. Some missions will be longer than others, having different parts inside.
Besides the XP, players will have other rewards like skins, special weapons, or charms for the equipment. For example, when they defeat a boss, they will receive a unique charm, skin, or weapon as a reward.

The main missions are designed to tell Jacob’s story.
These missions will have more story and will be lead to another with cinematics.
The first years (1960 and 1963) will not have coop mode to use them as a tutorial to help the players to get used to the mechanics.
When players finish one year, they have the option to jump to the next one or to stay on that map to finish the extra missions.

1960 · The Beautiful Days ·· Winter

The year will be introduced by a cinematic that present the political and social situation to the players.

Mission 1 • The City

DECEMBER 31th, 1959

Because the game will not have a proper HUD, I think it is important to give them this mission where they can explore the city and understand how to use the Diary as GPS. Later they will have PPS. However, this mission will help them to survive without it, giving more realism to the game.

STORY

This mission should show how lonely and sad Jacob is as a kid, making contrast with the rhythm of life that the rest of the population is wearing.

MISSION DESCRIPTION

Players need to sneak from Jacob’s apartment without being seen by AN-1331B to watch the fireworks from the roof.

STORY

I want to show how lonely Jacob is, showing the beautiful fireworks and the drunk people having fun, being happy, while he is alone in the rooftop. AN will appear in the middle of the show, hugging Jacob. That will lead to a cinematic where Jacob is asking AN if it is happy and that he be honest with your answer. Then AN only answers that it isn’t programmed to lie, leaving Jacob with the question of if somebody that is not programmed to lie is programmed to tell the truth.

Mission 3 • The Environmental Summit

This mission will allow the players to get used to using AN as a partner, giving to it orders, like disconnecting the alarms. And use the PPS as Immersive HUD.

MISSION DESCRIPTION

Players need to sneak into the Environmental Summit with the help of AN-1331B.

  • In the middle of the mission, when they are inside of the Conference Center, they will find a PPS hiding behind a corner. They will need to return it. To do that they will connect PPS to their Diaries, that way they will know how the Immersive HUD works.
STORY

Players will see a cinematic where one agent from Clean Future is talking about the water. Clean Future has real water in their headquarters when the rest of the people have synthetic water, with that grey bluish color. People on the summit feel attacked by the cockiness of the agent. When he starts to talk about that the “normal people” are killers and rapers of the Earth, the listeners just explode, starting to attack the agent, throwing bottles and chairs.

  • PPS is so scared, that Jacob decides to keep it.

Mission 4 • The First Attack

This mission will allow the players to understand how the coop with AI partners works and the use of PPS as a device.

MISSION DESCRIPTION

Players need to help Jacob’s father to liberate the electric central from Clean Future.

STORY

As a way to show that a city can be sustained with renewables energies and to call the attention of the public, Clean Future decides to take the Power Plant and the androids that work there and install a new generator. When players liberate the plant, Clean Future agents just surrender with no violence.

AFTER MISSION STORY

Right after this, Aaron Sas, Jacob’s father, receives a call from the Resources Plant. Clean Future took that area too, and this time, they are attacking it.

Mission 5 • One Was Enough

JANUARY 2ST, 1960

This mission is important because of the lack of HUD. With this mission, players will understand how the Immersive HUD works regarding weapons, ammunition, and health.

MISSION DESCRIPTION

Players need to liberate now the Resources Plant, a coal mine, from Clean Future, who look for destroying it.

STORY

When players finish the mission, Clean Future surrender again, but Aaron shoots them. When one of the agents runs away, Aaron orders Jacob to shoot at him. Even if the players decide to shoot, they will miss, and the sight will be shaking.

AFTER MISSION STORY

A cinematic will show Aaron in their apartment talking with other GCP members about go to Clean Future’s Headquarters and kill everyone.

MISSION DESCRIPTION

Players need to stop the GCP from attacking Clean Future’s Headquarters.  

STORY

Jacob may have saved this headquarter, but Clean Future receive the same reception everywhere, being attacked around the globe. A month later, in February, Clean Future ask to buy the remaining natural reservations to disappear. In March, they build their Domes, and all the headquarters and offices get abandoned.

1963 · The End of the Religion ·· Summer

5 Missions

The year will be introduced by a cinematic that shows the main changes that happen those three years and how the first Devotees take the streets to talk about the end of the world.

The first mission starts in Jacob’s apartment, so maybe the TV or the Radio could be talking about the situation with the Devotees, and Jacob’s parents could be arguing about it too. With Aaron Sas yelling about that they should do something and calling their friends on GCP.

This mission will allow the players to understand the use of the crafting mechanics that will allow them to upgrade AN-1331B and PPS in the future.

MISSION DESCRIPTION

Players must take AN to the craftsman to be upgraded. They can use the Subway if they want.

STORY

Once there they will know about the different Androids generations and about PPS and how to fix and upgrade her. Jacob will leave AN and PPS there.

AFTER MISSION STORY

Once that the leave, a Devotee will stop Jacob in the street to preach him. When the watchers of the GCP see the scene, they automatically decide to attack both of them.

Mission 8 • Wrong Move!

AUGUST 13TH, 1963

TUTORIAL

This mission will allow the players to get used to Parkour, Adrenaline Time, and QuickTime Events mechanics. Also will show the more from the Immersive HUD, like how the players know where they can jump and how it will change during the Adrenaline Time. Besides, players will unlock the use of melee weapons, in this case, a Pocket Knife.

MISSION DESCRIPTION

Players need to run from the GCP aggressors, doing parkour on the city and using the Adrenaline Time to defeat them and escape safe and sound.

STORY

Because of the attack, Jacob arrives at his home earlier, which allows him to hear a conversation between Aaron and the GCP. Like with Clean Future, the GCP plans attack the Devotees before they try something bigger than just preach. Aaron talks about burning them when they are reunited in their church, on the outskirts of the city, blocking the gates to be sure that they will not run away.

Mission 9 • Saving the Devotees

Players need to save the Devotees trapped in the church.

STORY

Jacob gets arrested by the police and go to jail with the rest of the offenders. Aaron let him there as punishment to help the Devotees.

AFTER MISSION STORY

When they go out they discover a city in chaos, full of violence, with dead bodies hanging from the street lamps.

Mission 10 • 15 Days After

Players must go for PPS. When they arrive at the shop, they will discover the body of the craftsman, holding a rosary. Players must ask for police help. However, the police ignore them. So, now they need to figure out why.

Emergency androids have been hacked by the GCP.

Mission 11 • Corruption

MISSION DESCRIPTION

Players need to re-hack the police androids to force them to help the Devotees, but when they do it, the GCP appears to stop him. Now the players need to reach the City Hall to call the army and ask for help.

STORY

The government discovers what the GCP has been doing and send the army to stop the hostiles, forcing the Devotees to hide into their Secret Churches. To the eyes of the population, the Devotees are the real enemy like they did with Clean Future. GCP continues working as a civil surveillance group under the approval of the government.

1973 · They Weren’t Wrong ·· Spring

7 Missions

This year will be introduced by a cinematic that will show all the changes and will introduce players to the new reality, where pollution is a problem and the Energetic Crisis a reality.

From this moment, players can play in Coop with a partner. The decisions that they take will affect individually so each player can have their own experience.

The game started with Jacob, Uma, and Marcus in the Subway on their way to the Campus. In the middle of the travel, the Subway has a blackout. Uma complaining about the situation, saying that Clean Future was right, Marcus asks her to be quiet after seen some people watching them.

Mission 12 • I Am Tired Of This!

APRIL 23TH, 1973

MISSION DESCRIPTION

Players need to set their appearance and chose their sexual preference, Marcus or Uma. After that, they need to go to a cafe to talk with Uma and Marcus.

STORY

The situation in the city is horrible. The levels of pollution make the population need to wear gas masks. Jacob and his friends are tired of sit and see how the situation crumble. For that reason, Jacob decides to travel to Clean Future’s Dome to ask for help.

  • Players will be teleported to the Dome when they are ready.
AFTER MISSION STORY

When Jacob arrives at the Dome, he realizes that something is wrong. The Dome looks abandoned, with no drones or soldiers guarding it.

MISSION DESCRIPTION

Players need to first look for a way to enter into the Dome. They can ring if they want. They need to look for the emergency entrance that is hidden nearby and use PPS. When they enter, they will found an abandoned facility, with lots of android’s heads hanging from the trees. So, now they need to figure out what happened in the Dome.

  • They will need to fight against the crazy members of the Clean Future to able to discover what happened and be able to leave the place alive.
  • This mission will have several parts and a big strong boss at the end.
  • They will find the weapons and other equipment, like Medkits on the Dome.
IN-GAME STORY

Players will discover that somebody attacked the Dome, poisoning the water using a bacteria that made the inhabitants go insane.

SIDE STORY

The group that attacked the Dome is GWFCE, a group that formed part of Clean Future and that were responsible for the violent attacks over the Resources and Electric Plants that occurred in 1960. Players will know that for the GWFCE logo that will appear every time that they attack. The reason why GWFCE attacked the Dome is in revenge against Clean Future because they think that the main group was surrender to the government asking to buy the natural reservations to disappearing with no fight.

AFTER MISSION STORY

Jacob comes back to Escravitude to discover the city without electricity almost and the subway closed. Uma and Marcus inform Jacob that they are in a group called the Renegades formed by young people that want to escape from the oppressive system. The group in Escravitude decided to follow the lead of other cities, like Navia, and build a city in the Subway. Because Jacob’s father is an engineer, they want that he leads the operation.

Mission 14 • Silent But Secure

MISSION DESCRIPTION

Players need to inspect the subway and prepare it to be transformed into a city.

  • This mission will have several parts that the player needs to accomplish. The city will grow with the missions that the players do. Some of these missions will be to recruit new members, like medics or craftsmen. The idea of this mission is to create the base of the city, a safe place for the players.
  • After this mission, players will unlock: the craft shop, the barber, armory, etc.
STORY

This mission will have several mini-stories inside that will show the society and their problems.

Mission 15 • Save What Is Important

MISSION DESCRIPTION

Players must go to the museum to recover the art. The museum is set in one of the old churches. Once there, players will discover that it is a library in the basement and Uma/Marcus sends them to investigate. There they will discover GCP members that took the place as their base, using the Devotees as slaves. Players must free them.

STORY

After the government intervention, lots of churches were transformed into recreational areas, such as museums or shops. The existence of the Secret Churches was just a rumor. But when some members of the GCP started to spy the Devotees to kill them without alerting the government, they find out that Secret Churches are a reality and decided to use it at their advantage.

Mission 16 • Just in Case

MISSION DESCRIPTION

Players need to prepare a farm in the near Grey Area to work as an exterior base. This activity is noticed by the GCP and they will try to stop it.

STORY

Grey Areas still have some resources, like medicines. However, they are the last ones in the government list to be helped. For that reason, it is pretty easy for the Renegades to convince them to use their houses as exterior bases. The problem is that in the rural area there are still many people loyal to the government and supporters of the GCP.

AFTER MISSION STORY

After this mission, the GCP is alerted of the activity of the Renegades and start a personal battle against them. The GCP started to deliver flyers to the population talking about the Renegades, calling them Rats, and trying to sell to the people the idea that everything is ok and the Renegades are just a bunch of paranoiacs. They comparing them with Clean Future and their Domes. Jacob finds a printer that was used by the GCP to print the flyers, when he sees the pretty images, he gets really angry and decides to something.

Mission 17 • Blinds!

MISSION DESCRIPTION

Players need to paint one of the flyers and then go to the City Hall to throw them from the rooftop.

  • Players must complete the mission during the dawn when the number of passersby is less, and no person or android can’t detect them.
STORY

When Jacob comeback to Liberdade, Uma or Marcus, has an argument with him about the situation. He or she accuses him of provoking the GCP. Jacob defends himself, saying that they can be quiet and let that they attack them. Finally, Jacob decides to continue painting flyers to try to attract more people transforming the name RATS into the anachronism of Reboot All The System.

AFTER MISSION STORY

A few hours later, Jacob receives the news that a couple of their providers, brother, and sister, has been kidnaped by the GCP as an answer for the flyers. The GCP wants the responsible for the vandalize act presents himself in the city square at dawn. Uma and Marcus ask Jacob to don’t do it, but he insists.

MISSION DESCRIPTION

Players need to approach the city square to investigate how is the situation and liberate the providers, without being killed.

STORY

Jacob finds the providers tied to a pole. They are alive but in a really bad condition. When Jacob approaches, he sees his father with a big group. Jacob tries to talk with them, but before he could really react, GCP set on fire the two providers burn them alive. Nobody says a word. They just stay there watching the scene. And, before that Jacob could react Aaron, Jacob’s Father, shots at him in the stomach.
Aaron has then a conversation with his son while he’s dying in the ground, where he tells him that his mother is dying from a respiratory disease provoked by the pollution. That they see the problems, but they choose to be blind. They build this world, so they have the right to kill it and die with it. And that Jacob disgusts him to pretend to be better than them when he is just a scared rat that runs away from the problems that he and his friends also provoked.

You enjoyed AN’s company as much as I enjoyed the parties. You are as much guilty as I am.

AFTER MISSION STORY

Jacob survives and Liberdade closes its doors for all the population of the Escravitude.

1977 · The OPS ·· Winter

This mini year is fundamental to tell the story of the approbation of the OPS because that moment changes everything. However, because I want to show that exact moment I don’t want to add lots of story missions.
When the OPS is approved many women and men decide to present voluntarily, believing in the promise that their families will receive special treatment from the government. However, the Renegades don’t believe it.

Mission 19 • The Truth

Players need to discover the truth about the OPS going to the Army Base situated on the Grey Area.

STORY

In the Base, Jacob discovers that the GCP is lying to the population, not only about the rewards also about the volunteers. Nobody is presenting themselves voluntarily, it is just a trick from GCP to attract more people for the OPS.

Mission 20 • Bad News

Players must go to the Radio Station that is being used by the GCP and to send the news about the OPS and hack and secure it to be able to use against the GCP and to send the news to other Underground Cites.

STORY

As a reprisal for the say the truth, the GCP plans an attack over the Exterior Bases to kidnap all the providers.

Mission 21 • Closing the Doors Forever

DECEMBER 16TH, 1977

MISSION DESCRIPTION

Players must defend and protect the Exterior Bases, rescuing the hostages.

  • Players must be careful to don’t lose the bases and to protect the hostages from the GCP. How many more survive, more XP they will receive.
STORY

At the end of the fight, the GCP sends an area attack, killing many of the Renegades and GCP members too, and destroying the Exterior Bases. After see how corrupted is the GCP and receive so much hate from the population, Liberdade decides to close its doors forever.

1984 · The Lucky of the Dead ·· Winter

4 Missions

This is the year of the Rites. It is a new reality, the world hasn’t ended, it changed. It’s the first big area that the players will be able to explore.
The Hard War is a global reality. The Dark Zones grow and grow, eating alive entire countries. However, the Underground Cities live in their own paradise, with electricity, music, heat, and food. They are well-prepared bastions made to last. The GCP is not happy with that and in the name of the common good, they decide to attack the Underground Cities. But before, they decide to send some agents to try to convince the Liberdade’s leaders to give up and join the GCP. Of course, the answer was a middle finger.
Even when they GCP leave without reprisals, Jacob and the other leaders don’t trust on them and decide to evacuate the city just in case of an attack. However, after that the last battle against the GCP, the Renegades lost their Exterior Bases, so now Jacob is sent to find a safe place to evacuate the population.
It is in this cinematic when players discover that Uma is pregnant.

Mission 21 • Who Controls God, Controls Everything.

JANUARY 25TH, 1984

The Abandoned Grey Area · Alameda Village

MISSION DESCRIPTION

Players need to travel through the tunnels to the Abandoned Grey Area to check one of the villages that were there and look for a place where the population can stay.

  • In the tunnels, they will find some NPC that tried to get used to the dark, but they went crazy, and now they could try to attack the player.

Once in the village, the players will face for the first time a Rite.

  • This mission will have several parts First players need to understand what is going on in the village. Then they will need to defeat the Rite to have a safe place for the evacuate people.
STORY

Jacob discovers that the Alameda Village is not really abandoned, there is a group of women living on it, and that changed their name to Meigas. At the begging, Ela, their leader, is collaborative with Jacob, but he knows that something is not right, so he decides to investigate. In the village clinic, he discovers that the Meigas are kidnaping kids and pregnant woman to take their blood and corporal fat to use it on their “medicine”. Once Jacob discovers what is going on, Ela’s kindness is over. Jacob manages to clean the place and have a safe area for the evacuate people.

AFTER MISSION STORY

The weeks pass and the GCP doesn’t make any move. Some people on Liberdade start to think it is time to bring the people back. However, the GCP finally makes their move, setting on fire the tunnels and cornering the people inside the city.

Mission 22 • Red War

FEBRUARY 13TH, 1984

MISSION DESCRIPTION

This mission will have several parts. Players need to put out the fire first, help with the defense of the city, and with the wounded.

STORY

The Renegades win the battle and make the GCP give up.

AFTER MISSION STORY

After the battle, the evacuated people come back. Liberdade citizens are confident in their won, but despite that, they reinforce the doors and the defenses on the tunnel. Little by little, other Underground Cities announce that they won against the GCP.

  • However, the GCP has other plans. They want a devastating victory. Not just defeat the Renegades but also humiliate them as revenge for their good life. They plan to force the Underground Cities to evacuate the weakest ones, that way they can mark them to be sure to kill them. Then they will attack the cities to see the weak points and put the bombs that will collapse the tunnels during the last attack. The final step of their plan is to wait for everyone is inside the cities to cut the communications and make the last attack.

Mission 23 • Bright Them Back

MISSION DESCRIPTION

Players need to prepare a party to celebrate the win over GCP.

STORY

Jacob is enjoying the victory and spending time with Uma or Marcus. Here will be a slow and romantic sex scene and then an intimate scene between Jacob and his partner, where they talk about the future. Then, it will be the party. In the middle, somebody will ask Jacob to go to the main office. There, Jacob discovers that they have lost the communications completely with the radio station. Before they can react, the explosions collapse the tunnels. Jacob runs towards Uma and Marcus at the time that the lights go out, and the red emergency lights turn on, and several red visors (like the one that Sam Fisher has) appear at tunnels in the middle of the dust. The Snipers (Elite Generation 3 Androids) start to shot all the targets that were evacuated previously. When Jacob tries to do something, he is shot on his arm. Marcus and Uma try to scape, but it is impossible. One Sniper takes Uma, and Marcus tries to help her. When Jacob runs to help him, Aaron appears, grab Marcus by the hair, and shoots him in the head in front of his son, looking directly at him. Uma manages to escape from the android and yelling: “WE CHOSE HOW TO LIVE, WE CHOSE HOW TO DIE” she takes her knife and kill herself as the last freedom scream.

AFTER MISSION STORY

Jacob is taken as the hostage of the GCP, forced to serve the government. He is notified that he will be sent to Navia to explore the abandoned Underground City, Annabelle. The GCP wants to know what happened with the citizens of the Underground Cities that were left on the Dark Zones. To prevent desertions, the GCP warns all the new recruits that for each desertion they will kill one of the other recruits from their cities. Also, GCP sends one of their members, Lucas Da Rosa, to check that Jacob fulfills the mission.

  • When the GCP takes Jacob as a hostage, they don’t allow him to have any of his equipment, include PPS. What I want is that PPS finds Jacob while he is in the Military Base and be like really cute and happy when it fins him. And if anybody that is not Jacob tries to catch it, it gets really angry and attacks. For that reason, Lucas allows Jacob to keep PPS.

MISSION DESCRIPTION

Players need to travel through the Dark Zone and reach Navia’s City following the Yellow Route. Then they need to blow a service entrance to get inside of the Underground City. After that, they need to travel through the tunnels and reach the city. However, in the city, they will find this strange Rite that adores the darkness, calling “Her”. Players will need to leave the city in complete darkness, using PPS, to avoid being killed by the Rite. The Priest says to them to follow the Red Route and never come back. Once that they are outside, they will receive a call from the GCP, ordering them to follow the Red Route and to see if there are survivors from the city. Players will meet Sebastián Alvar, who will ask Jacob for help to defeat Annabelle’s Rite and recover his lost city.

  • This mission will have several missions and parts. Also, Navia is the first big area that the players can explore freely.
STORY

The Yellow Route is set by the GCP scavengers to establish a safe route marking the areas where the Rites don’t operate. The Route is unfinished because the Navia is a dangerous place, full of strange symbols that appear after somebody is killed. Inside the Underground City lives the Annabelle’s Rite formed by Generation 1 Androids that live in the darkness and kill anyone or anything that lives on the light. When Jacob and Lucas enter the city, they are surrounded by strange creatures that they can’t see, and the soft voice of the Priest asks them to leave their weapons and lanterns aside if they don’t want to die. Lucas decides to attack the voice, which allows Jacob (and the players) have a fast vision of the androids. But before that Lucas can finish his attack, a flying knife strikes on his hand. He runs away, and the creatures chase him and kill him. Then Jacob decides to obey the Priest. The Priest put Jacob on test, ordering him to walk the tunnels on complete darkness to prove that he has faith in Her. Jacob uses PPS to be able to leave the tunnels. When he reaches the door, the Priest tells him that he should follow the Red Route and never come back if he wants to live. On his way, Jacob meets Sebastián Alvar in the Dead Trees Forest. Sebastián was a citizen of the Annabelle Underground City and the last survivor. Now the same androids that he designed and built are hunting him, forcing him to live on the polluted caves to be safe from the other Rites. Jacob decides to help Sebastián in a way to revenge GCP. If he is forced to be a slave, he will not fabricate more slaves for them. He will use his slavery time to help others to escape from GCP.

  • Players need to recover Annabelle city, kill The Priest, and make a decision:
    1. They can kill the androids.
    2. They can hack the androids, that is what Sebastián wants, but the mission will be more difficult.

What they decide will affect Jacob’s personality.

After some time, the Hard War finish eating the whole country. The poverty and pollution are all over the place, so GCP decides that they don’t want to lose more resources on the battle and sends all their recruits to the main military base on the Trade City, BI83.

Mission 25 • A New Home

MISSION DESCRIPTION

Players need to reach the Trade City driving a truck with supplies. In the middle of the travel, the convoy will be attacked and players need to protect it. However, the attackers will not surrender and will force the players to stop. Then players will discover a Clean Future agent that asks them to go with them.

  • After talking with Clean Future, players still need to deliver the truck to BI83.
STORY

Clean Future notice, by the surveillance cameras, that Jacob visits the Dome 13. After that, they watched him and other Renegades. Now that the global situation is like a battle royal where the remaining governments are fighting for the survival of their rich people, leaving the rest of the people behind, Clean Future decides to intervene, and they are looking for the help of the people. What Clean Future wants from Jacob is that he spies GCP and when the moment comes, help them to win the last battle. Of course, Jacob accepts. He would do whatever to sink GCP. His first task is to set a way to communicate.

AFTER MISSION STORY

When Jacob arrives at BI83, he discovers a whole different reality. The rich that live there act like nothing was happing outside of their walls. For them, there is no war, never was one. And not only act as if there was no war, but they also ignore all the soldiers entirely. Some of Jacob’s partners, they had been there for a couple of weeks, have conversations about it, talking about that they are going insane with the situation.

Mission 26 • The Worst Rite So Far

MISSION DESCRIPTION

Players need to reach the radio station to set a safe way to communicate with Clean Future.

  • This mission is important because it will allow the players to explore the city and see how the Privileged ignore Jacob and the rest of the soldiers and how that affects the soldiers, who already have traumas after the Red War, the Rites, the Hard War, etc.
STORY

Clean Future gives Jacob his next mission that will be hacking the security androids. The citizens ignore Jacob, he can hit them, and they still ignore him. Some of the soldiers try to make the Privileged notice them, screaming, making obscene jokes, or even throw things at them, but nothing works, and that affects the sanity of some of the soldiers. Some think that they are androids put there to give the sensation that they still have something to protect.

  • All the game have different Rites, from the begging to the end. The Privileged are the worst of all of them because they decide to ignore what is happening around them, letting their neighbors, friends, and families die to preserve their lifestyle, while the other Rites appear because of the circumstances.

Mission 27 • Am I Dead Yet?

MISSION DESCRIPTION

Players need to enter into the security facility and hack the surveillance cameras without being spotted by them or the androids. Also, players only will have a determinate time to do this mission, because they need to finish it before Jacob’s unit notice his absence. After that, players will need to hack the security androids to prevent that the GCP could use them.

STORY

Clean Future gives Jacob the next mission, which will make the Privileged to lose their privileges. In his way, he sees the same scene to the previous day, a soldier yelling to one of the passersby, but this time, the soldier looks completely insane. Jacob tries to calm him, but how much more the man ignores him, more nervous he goes. At some moment, the soldier takes a knife and stabs the man in the chest, who falls heavy to the ground without nobody helps him. The soldier starts to laugh, playing with the blood in the knife and saying, “so, is true. I am dead. Finally!!” and with the same knife, he cuts his throat smiling and crying at the same time while the rest of the passerby ignore the whole scene. Jacob realizes that there is an android looking at them with its fists are heavily closed. The android walk towards Jacob, puts its hand on his shoulder and took the body of the soldier. Then Jacob’s Diary rings, and he sees a message from Clean Future that says, “Ok, is enough. They are going down”.

Mission 28 • Now We Are Visible

MISSION DESCRIPTION

Players need to reach the Power Plant (the same one they saved in 1960) once there they can’t kill any of the workers (there aren’t androids working no more), so they need to avoid to be seeing or they can knock them. They need to reach the generator and put bombs to take it down. Finally, they can (is optional, they can choose) activate the alarms to force everybody to leave the plant before to blow it, so they will not kill anybody. They have to escape the building before it explodes (this part of the mission will have a timer).

  • This mission is important because it will allow the players to see again Escravitude, now as a Ruin City, with many abandoned buildings and others in ruins and the people around the anemic light bulbs like they are the most precious thing that they possess.
  • The decisions that the players take from here, like the one of kill or not the people working on the plant, will affect how Clean Future will deal with the players. This will allow the players to build their own personality and will make the experience more realistic and unique for each player.
STORY

Once that the Power Plant is down the whole city will blackout. It’s chaos. People screaming and going crazy. Jacob sees many of them begging to the light bulbs to light again or turning on and off the light switches hysterically. Then, Jacob sees big pure white drones coming from the sky. Their turbines open spaces in the pollution clouds allowing the sunbeams to come through for the first time in a long time. A voice calms the population while the drones let down slowly white and blue perfect boxes, full of light. Jacob sees how the people run to the boxes like moths. Then the agent that talked with Jacob the first time appear an tell him that now they have the situation under control and that he needs to come back to BI83 because GCP sent reinforces when they noticed that they couldn’t control the androids.

AFTER MISSION STORY

When Jacob arrives at BI83 he faces a gun on his face. Aaron Sas, Jacob’s father, is aiming at his face while asking where he has been. Aaron is sure that Jacob has something to be with the androids and with the attack on the Power Plant. Jacob looks at his brothers and sisters that were taken from the Underground Cities and yells at them “WE CHOSE HOW WE LIFE, WE CHOSE HOW WE DIE”. With that, all the soldiers and many of the workers that were there for the OPS start to fight against the GCP.

Mission 29 • The Hardest Battle

MISSION DESCRIPTION

Players need to defeat Aaron. To do that, first, they need to deactivate the androids transforming the emergency generator into a PEM. After that, players need to open the city doors and ask for Clean Future’s reinforcements. Then they can go to defeat Aaron. He will be hiding in one of the buildings with several hostages. Aaron will force players to choose between kill 10 Privileged and save one prostitute from the OPS or kill her but save the ten people. To force players to choose, Aaron put the hostages in two separate elevators that are the only way to reach him. When the players activate one elevator, the other will explode. Whatever the players choose will not matter (but will affect their personality build) because both elevators will explode, however, players will survive thanks to the emergency brakes. Then players will need to climb using the elevator cables. Finally, they will have their last battle against Aaron.

STORY

Once Jacob kills his father, the GCP army doesn’t have more reason to fight against the Clean Future army and they surrender. After this, Clean Future take the control of the area, sending the survivors to the Outskirts, an area that they already cleaned for them build their new temporal homes, while Clean Future build their sustainable Supercities.

Mission 30 • A New Beginning

OCTOBER 20TH, 1990

I decided to add this last mission to avoid add a really long cinematic at the end of the game and to introduce the Outskirts. After this mission will be the last main story cinematic, and then the players will have the whole map unlocked with all the years that they can come back to finish. Because I want to focus on the main aspects of the story, I prefer to add the details as side missions instead of adding more main missions or long cinematics.

The Outskirts

In my novel, the name of the Outskirts is given after the city is finished and makes reference to the area that is situated, the main materials that the city is made or after some main element that the city has. So I thought that it could be funny if the name came from the players. Allowing them to put the name of their new home. It can be dangerous because all we know how the players are, but I think that this will round the experience.

MISSION DESCRIPTION

Players have to build their own city. First, players need to unlock the area and put a name to it. That will finish the story, and after the cinematic, they will come back here, and they can start to build, expending the XP that they gained and that they will win.

STORY

Jacob will narrate how Clean Future conquered the world in a few years, creating the beautiful and sustainable Supercities. The cinematics will finish with Jacob on his apartment on the Supercity 148 with all the view of the city, decorated for the New Year, talking about how he almost forgot about the weird symbol that he found in the Dome 13, until that day, December 30th, 2011. Then a swarm of mechanic butterflies will appear from some point of the city and one landing on Jacob’s window looking at him with her skull face and the GWFCE’s symbol on the belly. While Jacob is talking, the butterfly will twist her head, making a mechanic sound, like the string of a music box, and then explode in white smoke. The last scene will be the eyes of a 71 years old infected Jacob appearing behind a smoke cloud that comes from his water pipe while the voice a woman says: “what are you thinking, old man?”. Then he says, “In the good days, Elise,” and she answers, “Which good days?”. Then both laugh.

  • This end is a way to connect this story with the rest of the stories that will form part of the saga. This last scene is from the “present” of the novel (2018).
